National Night Out (NNO) is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. Last year, I sponsored an item that cancelled our regular Tuesday City Council meeting in order for Councilmembers to be able to attend the NNO events. This year, certain budget items must be approved on Tuesday, August 2 when NNO is scheduled to take place.
