The NASA Insight Mars Lander, which will be launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in March 2016, will have a special inscription on two chip plates that will be attached to the spacecraft. The inscription will read “Long Beach, CA – Incorporated 1897”, meaning that the name of Long Beach will be going to Mars during this historic trip!
