In recent months, neighbors have reported numerous coyote encounters as well as multiple attacks on domestic pets in Long Beach. As part of the motion I made and which was adopted by the City Council on August 11, the Animal Care Services Bureau will begin to receive input from the community to revise the existing Coyote Management Plan, which it will then publish online, in order to create a more comprehensive approach that includes greater education and public outreach and better tracking, reporting and classification systems.
