July 15th marked the first year anniversary of being elected by you to represent the Fifth District in the City of Long Beach, and I am extremely proud of the positive strides being made as we, together, strive to advance our community with each passing day. The important work and progress that has been achieved during my first year in office would not be possible without your support, dedication and commitment to our collective mission of building a bright future for Long Beach.
I remain steadfast in fulfilling our meaningful goals of ensuring a high quality of life in our neighborhoods, improving the way we deliver government services, investing in critical infrastructure, spurring local economic growth, budgeting for the needs of tomorrow, and empowering our next generation of civic leaders. As chair of the Economic Development and Finance Committee, vice chair of the Federal Legislation Committee and the Budget Oversight Committee, and a member of the Elections Oversight Committee and a past member of the Public Safety Committee, my colleagues and I have been able to partner together on important legislation, initiatives and programs.
I thank all those who joined me this year in opening our new field office in Wardlow Park, provided feedback during any of our town hall forums, volunteered through our ongoing service projects or celebrated in our array of community events. I look forward to your continued engagement as we endeavor to make Long Beach the best City it can possibly be.
