The history of the Port of Long Beach is being brought to life in a new book, Port Town, which is scheduled to debut in late June. Written by George and Carmela Cunningham, formerly the publishers of a well-regarded maritime newsletter, the 500-page book takes a look at how Long Beach transformed into a gateway for trans-Pacific trade at roughly $180 billion annually.
